GRADING CRITERIA · 2024/2025

2024/2025 — summer semester (study programme in English)
(a) - points from activity (max. 24 points):
  • lecture activity: 4 points (given by your lecturers; without negative points)
  • homework: 5 points (5 online homework assignments; each worth 1 point; without negative points)
  • lab tests: 9 points (3 tests; each worth 3 points; each test contains 6 multiple-choice questions [0.5 for correct answer / 0 for incorrect answer or no answer])
  • lab activity: 6 points (given by the lab teacher; without negative points)
(b) - Midterm exam (max. 26 points):
  • midterm exam lasts 120 minutes, it covers first lecture cycle material, and it consists of 10 questions — 4 questions worth 2 points each and 6 questions worth 3 points each
(c) - Final exam (max. 50 points) that has a written and an oral part:
Precondition for taking final exam and passing the course is successful completion of all lab exercises!
  • written part: 26 points, it lasts for 120 minutes, it covers second lecture cycle material, and it consists of 10 questions — 4 questions worth 2 points each and 6 questions worth 3 points each
  • oral part: 24 points, it covers entire course material
    • to take oral part of the final exam you need to have at least 18 points of the sum of points from the midterm exam and written part of the final exam (in this sum total result of midterm exam or written part of the final exam is set to zero if negative)
    • threshold for passing oral part of the final exam is 8 points
TOTAL = (a) + (b) + (c) = 100 points
Conditions for passing the course after final exam: minimum 50 total points and minimum 8 points on oral part of the final exam!
Students who pass the course will get final grades based on the total points:
  • Excellent (5): 86-100 points
  • Very Good (4): 74-85.99 points
  • Good (3): 62-73.99 points
  • Acceptable (2): 50-61.99 points
 
STUDENTS WHO DID NOT PASS THE COURSE AFTER FINAL EXAM CAN TAKE EXAM PERIODS...
Precondition for taking exam periods and passing the course is successful completion of all lab exercises!
(a) - points from activity (max. 24 points):
  • all activity points achieved during the semester
(x) - Written exam (max. 52 points):
  • it lasts for 120 minutes, it covers entire course material, and it consists of 10 questions — 4 questions worth 4 points each and 6 questions worth 6 points each
(y) - Oral exam (max. 24 points):
  • it covers entire course material
    • to take oral exam you need to have at least 18 points on the written exam
    • threshold for passing oral exam is 8 points
EXAM PERIOD TOTAL = (a) + (x) + (y) = 100 points
Conditions for passing the course and the final grade rules are the same as above!
 
IMPORTANT REMARK:
  • When calculating total points any total exam score that was negative will be set to zero points!
